We work in both the public and private sector for architects, consultants, surveyors, local authorities, frameworks and private clients.
We have a wealth of experience working on commercial properties such as schools, colleges, bars, restaurants, churches, libraries, retail outlets and leisure facilities. Our team also have the expertise and knowledge of working on historic and listed buildings.
Our scope of work on residential projects is vast and we have worked on all aspects of domestic property including new build housing and apartments, barn conversions, extensions and refurbishment. We have completed many high specification “Grand Designs” type domestic projects.
As principal contractor we can work with any form of contract including the common JCT contracts as well as design and build.

Workforce
The key to our success is our skilled team of people who ensure your project is successful from concept to completion. We employ a team of site managers, quantity surveyors, estimators and skilled tradesman including apprentice trained joiners, bricklayers, groundworkers, plasterers, roofers, labourers and tilers.
Awards
Vine House Construction was the Main Contractor for the construction of “Old Shed New House”, a multi award winning new house designed by Tonkin Liu Architects of London. The project has won several RIBA awards and featured on Channel 4’s “Grand Designs House of the Year Awards”.

Andrew Graves
Andrew co-founded Vine House Construction Ltd in 2007 and is responsible for leading the company both commercially and financially. Andrew also ensures the company’s health and safety policy is implemented.
He has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry working on multi-million pound projects in every sector. Andrew holds several qualifications including A-levels and a HNC in Building Studies.
Paul Graves
Paul is our Construction Director and is responsible for managing the company’s operations on site. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge of every aspect of the construction industry and working with his team of managers ensures all projects are completed to the highest quality, on time and to budget.
He has over 20 years in the construction industry and has managed multi-million pound projects in every sector. Paul holds several qualifications including an ONC in Building Studies.
Pat Graves
Pat co-founded Vine House Construction Ltd in 2007 and his role involves overseeing the estimating and surveying department. He also acts in a consultant role working with the site construction teams.
With nearly 60 years’ experience in the construction industry Pat has worked at all levels of management for both local and national building and civil engineering contractors throughout the UK including major projects to build motorways, bridges and large infrastructure.
We constantly monitor and advise on all aspects of new legislation and good working practices. The company has developed a comprehensive and robust Health and Safety Policy.
We also have a detailed Environmental and Waste Policy which is available on request.
The Directors and Managers within the company are committed to ensuring our excellent health and Safety record continues and to provide a safe environment for all persons working for the company in all its operations.
CHAS – The Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme Vine House has been accredited with CHAS for many years.
Health & Safety Consultant Our external Health and safety consultant ensures all our policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. They regularly inspect and audit our sites to help us maintain our excellent safety record.
Principal Contractor We regularly act as Principal Contractor to control the construction phase of a project working to the CDM Regulations.
Training Our site staff hold current CSCS skills training cards and have undertaken Health and Safety Awareness training including toolbox talks, working at height, manual handling, asbestos awareness, RIDDOR, PPE and safe use of abrasive wheels. The company operates a comprehensive training programme and ensures adequate training is available to all.
